JENI SWERDLOW, MA, ATR
DRUMMM Founder and Lead Facilitator
Percussionist and art therapist Jeni Swerdlow is a dynamic and engaging facilitator, trainer, presenter, and performer. Since 2000, Jeni’s interactive DRUMMM events have captivated thousands of participants at hundreds of events in the United States and abroad. She is best known for her playful attitude and innovative strategies that inspire drumming with freedom and confidence among diverse populations.
A registered art therapist (ATR), Jeni has more than 15 years of professional facilitation experience. In addition to earning an M.A. in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.A. in Visual Arts and Psychology from University of California, San Diego, Jeni has studied West African drumming, dance, and drum circle facilitation extensively, including training in Senegal, West Africa.
As a percussionist, Jeni has performed with such renowned groups as Mickey Hart’s Global Drum Project, Redmoon Theater, and Holy Goat Ensemble. She currently enjoys playing with the deliciously danceable samba band, The Loyd Family Players.
Jeni is a professional member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, is endorsed by drum manufacturer REMO Inc., and has received numerous grants for her work. DRUMMM program participants recognize Jeni’s passion for drumming and her gift for sharing its benefits with the world.
